Citizenship

Citizenship Overview

At Penkford school we try to encourage the development of active, informed and responsible citizens who are willing and able to take responsibility for themselves and their communities.

We aim to help our young people consider challenging issues like racism and discrimination.

We provide opportunities to develop self confidence, giving our young people a voice in the life of the school. The pupils are shown ways of making a difference in their own communities and in the wider society. Pupils develop the expertise and experience needed to claim their rights and understand their responsibilities.

We aim to prepare our pupils for the challenges of adult life in a diverse, multicultural society.

We try to address issues that are real and topical.
